DEARBORN COUNTY, INDIANA TRUCK CRASH INJURES TWO
Indiana State Police say two people were severely hurt after a Truck Crash in Dearborn County. The victims are 42-year old J.F. Booth from Cleves, Ohio and 38-year old Tracy Goudreau from Massachusetts. No word if their injuries are Work Comp related. Dearborn County is in eastern Indiana, about 90 minutes from Indianapolis.
As reported by www.cincinnati.com in the article, "Driver, Passenger Critical After Crash," Indiana State Troopers say Booth was the driver of the pickup truck involved in the Vehicle Accident. Indiana investigators say Booth was driving south on Jamison Road when he lost control of the truck. The vehicle then hit an embankment, did many flips and then struck the embankment again. Booth and Goudreau were ejected from the truck, and both were not wearing seat belts.
Seatbelt use, or lack thereof, can play a role in the severity of injuries from an auto accident. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2009, using seat belts in passenger vehicles saved more than 12,000 lives. And from 2005-2009, seat belts are credited with saving more than 72,000 lives.
