LAFAYETTE TEEN KILLED IN AUTO CRASH IN INDIANA

Lafayette police are looking for the driver responsible for a deadly hit and run vehicle crash Sunday night on the south side of the city. Indiana investigators say a dark SUV or pick up truck hit a 15-year old Lafayette teen and then fled the scene.

As reported by www.Fox59.com in the article, "15-Year Old Girl Killed in Hit and Run," the teen was walking on Indiana State Road 25 when she was struck. Police say her name was Ebony Knight.

Unfortunately, pedestrians are often victims of vehicle crashes. According to a report by the Governors Highway Safety Association, 12% of the nation’s traffic fatalities in 2009 were pedestrians. And the report found that in 2009, 50 people were killed in Indiana in vehicle accidents.
