INDIANA TEEN KILLED AFTER HIT BY PICKUP TRUCK IN HENRY COUNTY
Indiana skateboarders receive a warning after a Pickup Truck Crashes into a Sulphur Springs teen and kills him. 17-year old Riley Henry was skateboarding Friday night in Middletown when he was struck by the truck. Middletown is about an hour northeast of Indianapolis. No word if the truck driver suffered any work comp injuries.
According to www.theindychannel.com article, "Police Identify Teen Killed on Skateboard," Henry County's sheriff says the victim was going in the direction of traffic when the truck crashed into him. He went on to warn skateboarders of the dangers that come with skateboarding on roads.
Skateboarding is an increasingly popular activity, but it does carry a risk of injury or death especially when coupled with vehicles. As reported by www.concretedisciples.com, in 2006, 27 skateboarders were struck and killed by vehicles.
