INDIANA MAN AND INFANT KILLED IN AUTO CRASH WITH TRUCK IN SHELBY COUNTY

An Indiana woman is in critical condition and an Indianapolis man and his infant son are dead after their car crashed into a truck head on in Shelby County Tuesday. Shelby County sheriffs say the gravel truck driver is not to blame for the vehicle accident. That driver was on the job; however, there is no word if any work comp issues are involved.

As reported in the article, "Father, One-Year-Old Son Die in Head On Crash with Gravel Truck," on www.Fox59.com, JD Dorris was driving his fiance's car with his one-year old son in the back. An eyewitness says Dorris drifted in front of a truck going the opposite direction on Indiana State Road 252. Indiana investigators say they aren't sure why the victim crossed the center line.

Dorris did have numerous outstanding warrants including driving while suspended with a prior. It is not clear if Dorris's license was suspended at the time of this deadly accident. But according to www.smartmotorist.com, A AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety report found that drivers who do have invalid licenses are involved in one deadly traffic accident in five.
